O Hara, JamesOlson, JamesA L Olson Real Estate was established in 1930 by my father, Albert L Olson. The office was originally located on Washington Street across from the courthouse and was open 7 days a week, Sunday was the busiest of those 7 days! My father went to great lengths to serve his clients, even driving to Chicago to pick them up for showings! Every Sunday for 40 years Olson Real Estate advertised in the Chicago Tribune. My father was often referred to as the " Golden Muck Peddler of Starke County" - he bought and sold most of the sand in this part of the county at least twice in his lifetime! I entered the business in the 1970's with my late wife, Jane Olson. She had the foresight to realize that expansion would come along Highway 35 so with her encouragement, we moved the office to where it is today! This proved to be a very wise decision as A L Olson Real Estate became the firm selling most of the commerical properties on the highway! Today we are still thriving, although I am not as active in the day to day dealings I am here to offer my staff the knowledge and expierence I have earned over the years!
